EVE Online
I've been playing EVE Online for just over two years now, and consider it one of the most enjoyable Online experiences I've ever had. I do favor the Sci-Fi/Space setting, and absolutely love the in-game economics. I play EVE as an escape from my otherwise busy life, and have introduced several of my friends to the game.
Gaming in General
I'm an avid gamer. I've been dedicating large portions of my life to gaming since 1981 and partake of video games, role playing games, strategic miniatures games, boardgames, cardgames (CCG and Poker), Live Action RPG's, and the typical party games. I wear my "Geek" badge proudly.
Personal Life
I'm an HR Director for a Software Quality Assurance Laboratory. Having been a video game tester, I can use my industry insight and professional experience to help ensure that EVE continues to progress as one of the finest MMO's. I'm also a father of a 2 year old son, and write and perform music.
Motives for joining the Council
To be honest, I'd just want to ensure that the kind of game I've loved for so long doesn't take drastic turns to cater towards any one type of player (PvP, PvE, Economist, etc.). Along with that, I'd like to see that the focus of EVE stays with the player. Though I'm not opposed at looking at scenarios as a possible means of increasing EVE's player-base, I don't want to see change for the sake of change. I think of myself as a realist, and one with enough of a logical thought-train to ensure the direction of the Council is a well reasoned one.
